Jim Turner, playing solo or with his band, currently appears at over 200 engagements a year in concert halls, nightclubs, musical theaters, music festivals, private parties, weddings, colleges, schools and libraries, benefits and special events. He also plays on and produces studio recordings and makes TV and radio appearances.
The son of a legendary jazz trumpet player, Jim grew up listening to rock 'n' roll, folk, blues, jazz and classical music. Introduced to guitar and harmonica while in his teens, Jim Turner was soon out playing in coffee houses in Greenwich Village and in clubs throughout the New York metropolitan area.
Currently living on the East End of Long Island, Jim and his music reflect the rocking tempos and rhythms of city life, an appreciation for the simple pleasures of life in the country and by the sea, and a love of music of all styles. His repertoire of rock 'n' roll, blues, folk, jazz, reggae, country, gospel, world, avant-garde and Celtic music includes over 1500 songs.
